28 WAYS TO EXPERIENCE GOD | #7: OTHERS

28 WaysMost people are open to experiencing God at a church service. Many are open to experiencing God if they are listening to hymns or worship songs. The majority are open to the idea of experiencing God if they are meeting with a priest or pastor.

However there were times when I encountered God in other people. Regular people, Non-churchy people.

I used to work for a business and all of the employees except one claimed to be a Christian. My assumption was, we had a lot to teach him. But over time I noticed something about him. No matter what the topic, this man would not participate in gossip. On top of that, he never had a bad word to say about anyone. I quickly came to realize that I needed to learn from him. All of us at the company needed to learn from him. Allow me for a second to sound religious, “God taught me through this man.”

In fact, many times in my life, I learned from ordinary people. Some of them Sunday school teachers, some of them friends and others were coworkers. Most of them were Christians; a few of them were not. Jesus said His father is “always at work.” Once I let that sink in, I became aware of so much more He was doing.

Be open to experiencing God at church, in prayer, in nature and also in every person around you. A Pastor should be able to give you advice on experiencing your heavenly Father. But don’t be closed to the idea that almost anyone could lead you closer to God.

We are all made in His image; don’t be surprised if every once in a while, we act like it.
