28 WAYS TO EXPERIENCE GOD | #9: JOIN A SMALL GROUP BIBLE STUDY

28 Ways To Experience God A few days ago we read about experiencing God through others and then we read about experiencing God through reading the bible and learning to think differently.

One of the best ways to experience God in both of those ways is to join a bible study.  This is not to be confused with attending a worship service or even a mid-week bible study for the entire church.  While those are beneficial and we will talk about those more in the weeks to come, I am talking about a small group of people where you have the opportunity to give and receive feedback. 28 WAYS TO EXPERIENCE GOD | #6: LEARN TO THINK DIFFERENTLY

28 Ways To Experience God Romans 12:1-2…Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. 28 WAYS TO EXPERIENCE GOD | #4: BE MINDFUL OF YOUR RELAITONSHIPS

28 Ways To Experience God Many of us show up for a worship service Sunday after Sunday with no regard for how the rest of our life might impact that very moment.  Sunday morning worship services are supposed to be an opportunity for people to experience God right?  Well, what if you show up and God is not interested in having an experience with you?  Could such a thing happen?  According to the bible such a thing is very possible. 28 WAYS TO EXPERIENCE GOD | #2: IT STARTS WITH FAITH

God is not a concept or a doctrine.  He is a Person who seeks a close, one-on-one relationship with you and me.  God does not want us to merely believe in Him, He wants to relate to us on a personal level.  He does not just want to hear us recite prayers.  He wants to converse with us.  God’s plan is not to abandon Christians once we are born again, leaving us to build the best life we can.  He does not intend that we simply use our wits to “get by,” to bravely “survive” until we are finally ushered into heaven.   God wants to be actively involved in our lives each day. –Henry Blackaby Continue reading

31 DAYS TO A BETTER PRAYER LIFE | DAY 31: PRAY BOLD PRAYERS

One of the things I have noticed about most people is that they pray for average every day things.  Now there isn’t anything wrong with that because God cares about the smallest details in our lives.  However, many people wonder why there doesn’t seem to be anything extraordinary in their prayer life.

Let me make the following suggestion as a hypothesis.  I believe many people have a hum drum prayer life because they don’t pray for anything that requires a supernatural response from God.  Many of the prayers we pray will come to pass if we put in enough time and effort or simply just wait long enough for it to come to pass.
