What if we abandoned ourselves to His will?

Charles de Foucauld had a very interesting life, it’s worth researching. After living in doubt and dabbling with religion, he found Christ and was known to be a silent witness to the love of God. Very few of his words were recorded. Fortunately for us, his most famous words live on.

Here is his great prayer of abandonment to inspire you to trust God with everything.

Father,
I abandon myself into your hands;
do with me what you will.
Whatever you may do, I thank you:
I am ready for all, I accept all.
Let only your will be done in me,
and in all your creatures –
I wish no more than this, O Lord.
Into your hands I commend my soul:
I offer it to you with all the love of my heart,
for I love you, Lord, and so need to give myself,
to surrender myself into your hands without reserve,
and with boundless confidence,
for you are my Father.

Very simple words but a profound sentiment.

Trusting God with parts of your life is good, trusting Him with everything is the greatest thing anyone can do. Many people trust God with certain areas of their life but hold back when it comes to other areas.

If you aren’t a Christian, I respectfully challenge you to take a first step in trusting God. Simply ask Him to reveal Himself to you. That may sound unnerving but He is like a gentleman who gently knocks on the door, He won’t force His way into your life. However, if you open the door, only good can come of it.

If you are a Christian, there is no reason to hold back anything from God. He desires to be involved in every part of your life.

May you abandon yourself and trust God with everything.
