According to Wikipedia, Sojourner Truth was an African-American abolitionist and women’s rights activist. She was born into slavery, but escaped with her infant daughter to freedom in 1826.
As she fought for human dignity she realized that it required a great number of varying resources. While she personally did not have much she relied on God to supply her needs.
This was her prayer:
Oh, God, you know I have no money, but you can make the people do for me, and you must make the people do for me. I will never give you peace till you do God.
This was a woman that understood that her personal resources were not a limitation for God. She knew that where she fell short, God had ample resources through others, that could be directed her way.
She was also so committed to the work at hand that she vowed to not give our Lord a moments peace until he supplied her needs.
Do you believe God is limited by your circumstances and personal resources or do you believe God able to use you in spite of your circumstances and limited resources?
Are you quick to throw in the towel when things don’t seem to work out or are you willing to persist until God makes a way?
