One of the promises in the bible is that God will grant wisdom to those who simply ask for it.  Not only will he grant wisdom, he will give it generously.

James 1:5…If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

In which case prayer becomes the opportunity for you to gain wisdom.  Instead of feeling lost or helpless in the world you can be empowered.

The next time you have questions about life, parenting, relationships, work, etc… don’t turn on the television to find Dr. Phil or Oprah.  Spend a few minutes asking the one who holds the world in his hands to open your heart and mind to greater truths.
