1 John 2:3-6…3 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. 4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. (NIV)
Learning about God and learning the heart of God is done so that we can be obedient to what we learn. Living God’s way is the best way to live life. Our actions indicate whether or not we trust God and are willing to do things his way. If we truly want to experience God then we will abandon our personal preferences and all other philosophies and religions and follow God’s plan for living.
The above passage tells us that our love for God is made complete when we are obedient to his word. There is a supernatural experience that takes places within us and we are transformed from the inside out when we practice obedience to God’s word.
What are you not doing that you know you should be doing?
