31-Powerful-Prayers.jpgIn my opinion, one of the most powerful pictures we get to see in the bible is the recorded events of Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane.  If you recall, Jesus went there to pray shortly before being betrayed by Judas.

31-Powerful-Prayers.jpgThe movie War Room was one of the most popular movies in 2015.  It is an inspiring movie that challenges Christians to make prayer a significant part of their spiritual journey.

There are several scenes that are powerful and moving but the following prayer scene is perhaps my favorite.

Elizabeth is one of the main characters and she is in the middle of a troubled marriage and a lukewarm relationship with God.  She is introduced to Miss Clara who helps her rekindle her relationship with God.  Continue reading

31-Powerful-Prayers.jpgAccording to Wikipedia, Sojourner Truth was an African-American abolitionist and women’s rights activist.  She was born into slavery, but escaped with her infant daughter to freedom in 1826.

As she fought for human dignity she realized that it required a great number of varying resources.  While she personally did not have much she relied on God to supply her needs.
