How blessed is this day, when earth and heaven are joined and humankind is reconciled to God!
May the light of Jesus shine continually to drive away all darkness.
May Christ, the Morning Star who knows no setting, find his light ever burning in our hearts—he who gives his light to all creation, and who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

The bible tells us the story of Jesus of Nazareth. While Jesus was here on this Earth he made several extraordinary claims. One of the most extraordinary is found in the book of John.

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
In my opinion, one of the most powerful pictures we get to see in the bible is the recorded events of Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane. If you recall, Jesus went there to pray shortly before being betrayed by Judas.
During this time of intense prayer the burden of his crucifixion weighed heavily on him. It is the most intimate glimpse we have of Jesus’ humanity. Continue reading

Today’s prayer is actually the first verse of a song. It is called A Missionary’s Prayer, also known as I Will Go and Do, written by Janice Kapp Perry in 1979.
