I LOVE MY JOB

I want to go on record and say, there is no such thing as a perfect job.  There will always be things about every job that you do not like, even if you love what you do.

I have read the following statistics several times over the last five years or so.  These numbers vary slightly from one reporting organization to another but only slightly.

  • More than 660 million people live on less than $2.00 a day.
  • More than 385 million people live on less than $1.00 a day.

We here in the United States are very blessed compared to countries around the world.  I read an article once that stated that most people in the United States are among the top ten percent of the wealthiest people in the world.

When you think about those statistics it should cause all of us to pause, and be thankful.

I know that your boss could be a little nicer or appreciate you more.  I know that you are not paid what you deserve.  But in perspective, you probably have it pretty good.

As a side note, this is not to take lightly those in our nation that struggle.  I grew up in a poor family, supported by welfare.  I appreciate what it means to be without food or clothes.  But even among the poor in our country, we have access to help that doesn’t exist around the world.  For this we can be thankful.
