 28 Ways To Experience God Many people do not realize it but the old adage that says, “It is better to give than receive,” is very much true.  If all we do is go through life with a consuming mindset we run the risk of never being satisfied.  Our hearts will yearn for more and more in hopes that the next new thing will renew our sense of joy.

The problem with a consumers mindset is that it leads us to crave bigger, better, and newer.  And, the feelings that bigger, better, newer invoke are only temporary.  The feeling is fleeting. Continue reading

The cross is important in revolutionary ways, but the tomb… it’s empty.

The reason the tomb is so powerful is because there is no one there, the grave didn’t win, death lost.

28 Ways To Experience God The statistics that have been shared over the past ten years show that an alarming number of children in America go to bed each night without a father present in their home.  This leaves a huge burden for mothers to carry.

Each time my wife goes on a business trip it gives me an increased appreciation for what single parents go through.  I can’t imagine what it would be like to have to earn a living and try and meet all the demands of our household.  I dare say that no one would be where they were supposed to be when they were supposed to be there.  And, my sanity would be hanging on by a thread all day every day. 28 WaysWhile doing a hospital visit yesterday, I walked past the newborn baby viewing area. I stopped for a minute.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been by that window. When my kids were born I was there watching every breath, completely in awe. Later when a friend or church member had a baby I walked by the window a few times. But yesterday I didn’t know any new parents, I just happened to be going down that hallway. Continue reading
