CAN YOU REALLY TRUST YOURSELF?

Choices LogoThe things that we achieve in life are much like the crops a farmer will harvest at the end of each season.  We invest our time and energy into a various number of choices and over time those choices both great and small produce a certain result in our circumstances, behaviors, and attitudes.  Hence the old adage we reap what we sow.

Our lives are a byproduct of the seeds we sow in our daily living.  Over time those seeds become a way of life for us.  If we manage our money well; spend less than we make and give generously then we will find that we have great freedom in our finances.  We may not be rich but we will have freedom.  If we manage our money poorly; spend more than we make and spend selfishly then we will be a slave to our money and to those whom we are indebted.

If we surround ourselves with people that have positive attitudes and we choose to look for the silver lining in our circumstances we will be content and cheerful to be around.  If we surround ourselves with people that have negative attitudes and we choose to complain about what we missed out on as it relates to our circumstances then we will be unsatisfied and and miserable to be around.

If we treat our spouse with kindness and put their needs above our own we will have a marriage of value and appreciation.  If we treat our spouse with contempt and insist that our needs are most important then we will have a marriage that is competitive and filled with strife.

The good news is that we do not have to settle for the outcomes if we are not pleased with what we see.  If we are in debt and enslaved to our debtors we can begin planting new seeds to achieve new results.  If we have a bad attitude we can begin planting new seeds to achieve new results.  If we have a bad marriage we can begin planting new seeds to achieve new results.

Throughout our lives there will be times for planting seeds and times to harvest the results of what we have planted.  Every choice, every action, and every word is a seed that is planted for future results.  The goal is to choose wisely.  However, if we do not like the result we can begin a new season of planting.

Now pause for just a moment and think about the results that you would like to see in your attitude, your finances, your relationships, your career, etc…  As you determine the results you would like to have that should give you a better picture of the seeds that need to be sown.

Pause for just a moment and think about the results that you currently have.  Are you pleased with them?  If not, how would like them to be different?  This should give you a better picture of what you need to sow.

Let us choose wisely because today’s choices are the seeds that produce tomorrow’s future.
