31 POWERFUL PRAYERS: DAY 20 | A PRAYER BY DR. SEUSS

31 Powerful PrayersMany people know Dr. Seuss as a wonderful children’s literature writer.

Fewer people know of his artwork. Not only did Dr. Seuss illustrate his own books, but he also painted works of art that are in museums today.

In one of his best known pieces titled “A Prayer for a Child” he painted a cosmic picture of earth and Heaven with this prayer.

“From here on earth,
From my small place
I ask of You
Way out in space:
Please tell all men
In every land
What You and I
Both understand . . .
Please tell all men
That Peace is Good.
That’s all that need be understood
In every world
In Your great sky.
(We understand.
Both You and I.)”

Maybe the prayer isn’t exactly theologically correct according to scholars. And it’s difficult to nail down Dr. Seuss’ beliefs. But many are convinced that woven through Dr. Seuss’s stories are many Christian doctrines.

Regardless of the speculations, this simple prayer reflects what many in the Old Testament were looking for, and what we want today. Peace on earth.

I believe that peace is possible through the one known as the Prince of Peace, Christ Jesus.

I will now, wrap up this post. Reminding you, of He who loves the most.

Don’t forget to pray, today, tomorrow and every day.

To the one that made us all… old or young… big or small.
