31 DAYS TO A BETTER PRAYER LIFE | DAY 29: PRAYERS IN THE BIBLE

Prayer is personal, it’s unique to the way you communicate and it allows God to change you in ways nothing else can.

Earlier in this series, we encouraged you to learn from others. You can learn from people close to you or from famous men and women of God. That’s one of the great things about technology. If you want to find prayers voiced by Martin Luther, Saint Fancis or Billy Graham you can search the web and you will have them.

Above all of the influences in your own life or the prayers you can find online is scripture itself. The Bible contains great prayers from many different people. These people are similar to you. One may be confessing sin, another will be expressing thankfulness and some are asking for specific situations to change.

Check www.biblegateway.com or simply use a search engine to find “prayers in the Bible”. In many cases, searching the Bible for certain topics can be confusing. Because you can miss the context of the scripture you find helpful. So when you discover a prayer that interests you, go back and get the whole story. That may help you more than you can imagine.

Learn all you can from those around you but most of all learn from the collection of history, stories, poems, parables and teachings that were all inspired by the same one who hears your prayers.
